Scorpions entries are all independently supported but made up the biggest single manufacturer in this 10 day race marathon. With 7 Scorpion RIBs in the starting fleet of 48, the race takes its toll and only 26 complete the course but all 7 Scorpions are in the final 26.
The all women team of Sarah Fraser and Miranda Knowles are in their first race having persuade Scorpion to lend them their demonstration boat Rosy B, a standard Scorpion Sting with twin 315hp Yanmar inboard diesel engines.
The women race under the colours of TEAM SCORPION DUBOIS, with sponsorship from Dubois Naval Architects and finishing 12th overall and 4th in class. They do better each day as their skill and confidence grows although, it is discovered half way around that the ladies had been stopping during the race for lunch, once this practise stops the fleet find they have a serious contender in the last few days. They also succeed in their task of raising a lot of money for CLIC Sergent the cancer charity.
